The latest from Quatro –what’s new for 2018?

22 March 2018

There’s no standing still for New Zealand’s most innovative range of farm work-wear from Skellerup, with new and improved designs joining the Quatro stable this season.

‘High spec. High performance’ has been the Quatro motto since the country’s first insulated hand-built gumboot stepped out in 2009 and these latest developments are no exception to that rule, says Skellerup Marketing Communications Manager, Deborah Allan.

Among the changes are an upgrade to the Quatro sock, and the introduction of a wider range of sizes for both Quatro and Quatro Light gumboots.

“Right from the start, we’ve continued to invest in Quatro product development and design to ensure the range keeps evolving to meet the needs of a very diverse group of users,” Deborah says. “It’s about making a good concept even better.”

The original Quatro was NZ’s first gumboot to feature an insulated lining, a full length rubber outer shell, a podiatrist-inspired innersole, greater little toe protection and a mud-releasing tractor grip on the outsole.

It quickly became the boot of choice for anyone who wanted the ideal balance between practicality, comfort and warmth, and Deborah says that continued popularity is the main reason why both the calf and knee high versions of the original Quatro are now available in sizes 2 and 3, meaning the full size range is now 2 to 14.

Quatro Light knee gumboots are this season also available in sizes 2 and 3, with a full size range of 2 to 14. Non-insulated, these are designed for summer and/or warm climate wear, combining all the key comfort features of the original Quatro with advanced quick-dry linings for hot days.

Meanwhile, Deborah says, the Skellerup team has been busy behind the scenes adding advanced new features to the Quatro sock to give farmers even more comfort.

Ergonomically designed for use in insulated gumboots, the lightweight Quatro sock is available in a 2 pack and features an Elastic Support System (ESS) to lock the sock to the foot and stop it from riding down. Merino wool provides natural comfort, softness and warmth while strategically placed ventilation ribs control moisture and temperature.

“As of this year the socks are now constructed for left and right foot, which gives improved anatomical fit. In addition, we’ve added the Paladin™ Protection Pad for double density cushioning and extra protection on top of the foot.”
